First, they came for women’s swimming pools, and now they’re coming for father-daughter dances. The alleged “gender-inclusive” mob knows no bounds or limits.

Under the guise of “inclusion,” transgender sympathizers are looking to remake society by destroying time-honored traditions that do not adhere to their vision. Such is the case with the Lincoln Akerman School in Hampton Falls, New Hampshire, and its annual father-daughter
soiree
. It’s the contemporary equivalent of a small-town minister putting a ban on dancing.

“The Lincoln Akerman School PTO has received some concerns regarding the lack of gender inclusivity surrounding the Guys & Dolls and Ladies & Lads events at our school,” the PTO letter reads. “These long-standing events at LAS have traditionally been separated by gender, but with the asterisk that anyone is welcome.”

The better question is why should such parent-child institutions be scrapped to accommodate gender-inclusive radicals? The school said that anyone is welcome! This seems to be quite accommodating to all involved. Clearly, no one should be discriminated against, but, in essence, that is what is occurring. Based on the current cancellation, it can be legitimately argued that such gender-inclusive activists are actually the intolerant ones. They are the ones trying to eradicate society’s structure. They are not merely trying to “fit in,” they are trying to reinvent.

Parents at the Lincoln Akerman School PTO should be able to enjoy traditional dance events with their children. Just because there may not be any rainbows dominating the decor or the word “pride” anywhere doesn’t mean that fathers and daughters should lose out on opportunities to experience these types of events.

If we are going to start banning school dances because they make some adolescents uncomfortable, then you are going to end up banning all school dances. Dances make some adolescents uncomfortable!

Our increasingly isolated society needs more community events such as family-centered dances, not less. Somebody in Hampton Falls needs to call Kevin Bacon.
